7 Overpriced Products to Avoid Buying At the Airport

Nothing ever is cheap at an airport, even if it is from a duty-free store.

However, many a time’s purchasing stuff at the airport is inevitable.

But, there are still many things that you should avoid buying at the airport at any cost.

Here is a list of some overpriced products that you should never buy at the airport.

1. Food and Drinks

Food and drinks, especially bottled water always tops this list.

Therefore, never buy these at the airport if you want to stay in your budget.

Instead, you can have a healthy meal before coming to the airport.

You can pack some snacks with you. These will keep your hunger pangs in control during the flight.

However, if it is necessary to eat at the airport, look for cheap eating joints.

Further, make sure to carry an empty water bottle with you. You can fill it up later after your security check.

Also, never buy chocolate at the airport. Even the duty-free shops here offer higher prices.

You do not want to spend all the money that you have saved by booking cheap flights online.

2. Souvenirs

There are many souvenirs that you will want to bring home after your Indian trip.

But never buy them at the airport. Instead, plan and search for unique souvenirs at the destination itself.

We are confident that they will cost a lot less.

However, there are some exceptions to this rule. You can sometimes find some unique finds at the airports. Therefore, always do your research and compare the prices.

You can take a look at what the airport has to offer when you arrive on your round trip to India.

Thus, when you return home, you can buy these if they are cheap.

3. Foreign Currency

We know that this is the last thing that will come to your mind. However, make sure never to exchange currency at the airport.

The exchange booths at the airport usually charge high exchange rates.

Therefore, you have to be careful. We suggest you wait until you reach your destination.

Then, find an ATM and use it to take out cash. Thus, this way, you can save yourself from the high transaction fee.

4. Medicines

Do you tend to get nauseous and lightheaded while traveling?

We know that OTC medicines may help you. However, make sure never to purchase any of these at the airport.

Instead, you can come prepared from home beforehand. Or, you can follow some age-old natural remedies.

These are sure to help you get rid of your motion sickness.

The prices at the airport drugstores are always inflated. You can find the same medicine sat low prices outside.

Thus, always plan ahead and have all the necessary items in your carry-on.

5. Electronics

Never buy any sort of electronics at the airport. Do not buy them even if the shop is duty-free.

Besides, you will only find overpriced products here.

Prices at the airport are high because they can be. Moreover, you are trapped behind the security.

We know that you do not have any option but to pay these inflated costs. The only way you can avoid it is by coming prepared.

Thus, even if you have forgotten to pack your charger or headphones, give it a skip.

Instead, you can buy them once you reach your destination.

You do not want to end up burning a hole in your pocket even after saving on air ticket deals.

6. Rental Cars and Parking

Booking car rentals on the spot is not a good idea. Just like you book your tickets beforehand, do the same with car rentals too.

This way, you are sure to get some cheap deals on them. Thus, do not wait until you get to the airport and save more.

Just like car rentals, airports tend to charge more for parking’s too.

Therefore, try looking for some privately-owned garages for parking your vehicle.

Thus, avoid these to avoid overspending. Also, you may end up spending more than your travel budget.

7. Reading Material and Neck Pillows

Reading can help you during your long journey.

However, do not wait until you get to the airport to decide which book you want to read.

Instead, come prepared to the airport. Thus, while you are packing your carry-on, make sure to grab your favorite book from the bookshelf.

Never buy reading material from the airport.

Along with the reading material, make sure to have a neck pillow handy too.

Do not purchase it at the airport. Instead, you can buy it beforehand either online or from a local market.

Furthermore, the ones you will find at the airport stores have been touched and tried by numerous people.

Thus, along with cheap air ticket booking online, make sure to avoid buying such kind of stuff.

Instead, make sure to double-check that you are carrying all the necessary things with you.
